July 24

Felt tight in my neck from Tuesdays workout so just did some stretching today.  Plan on some tennis workout for Thursday.  Looking forward to cruise on Saturday!!!

On Sunday, after staying up most of the night trying to help Kristin get home from Prague, I did a stretch and walk from 20th and 1st to 11th and 6th and back.  Today Monday July 22nd I went to the gym and did core, elliptical workout, weights and bike a good 45 to 50 minutes.  This afternoon we are talking Poppi to the doctor.
Kristin had a good trip and Ryan drove out to Queens to see her. Grandma and Poppi liked him.

Saturday July 20th the 44th Anniversary of Man's first steps on the moon with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin along with Michael Collins on Apollo XI.  "Houston, Tranquility Base the Eagle has Landed"

For Workout today I went to NYSC and did core, cardio and then weights as Larissa had suggested. I think it is a good option and way of doing things.  I also got information about classes and how to sign for them.  I have softball at 5:45 today if it doesn't rain.  I pick up Kristin tomorrow from the airport.  Last evening Kelly and I went out to dinner, I picked her up from work. Then we both went home and collapsed.  She is at work again today.

Workout time today was about 45 minutes.  This blog is as much a journal as a fitness dream.  I miss all my new friends from the workshop and hope to keep in touch with them.

Friday July 19 Last day of Dr. Goldberg Living Work Network Workshop

Today my hip was hurting so only did light stretching.  Have softball game tomorrow, unless it rains, at 5:45 in Central Park.  Last evening sweated it out at NY Botanical Gardens event, jazz music and cocktail. It was hot.  Kelly worked the whole day until 9PM and we went home and right to bed.
Today I will post my workouts and time schedule.  I will put a list from different videos and articles I have found of the workouts I will attempt.

I plan to add links to websites and articles about core, cardio and weight workouts.

I have also recently joined Pinetrest and will investigate pins on that they may be helpful to my workouts and this blog.  My ultimate goal is live a healthy lifestyle and live a long life for my children and their children.  There is also a mental aspect to this and having activities like tennis, softball, reading, following sports and vacations will help.  I also plan to pursue someone to share all this with.

In the week I have spent at the Wyckoff Library with Dr. Goldberg and an amazing group of teachers we have been developing research topics with the goal of shipping them.  I decided to develop a workout plan that I could carry from the summer of 2013 into the teaching year.

The first topic I needed to setup was time management. In talking to Larisa and Heather and my daughter Kelly I realized that I don't need a big block of to accomplish my goals.  The evenings could be a time after I get home from work to either have a good cardio, core and weight workout at home or the New York Sports Club where I am a member.

In deciding how to ship my research Heather suggested a blog and rather than keep this completely personal I thought I would share what I have learned with others in my situation.

My plan is to keep track of my efforts and in this way keep myself on target to live a healthier life.  I plan to also incorporate healthier eating habits, with the help of my daughters and to go for an assessment from my doctor and a personal trainer.  I may also include some gym workout classes as my sister-in-law Denise is not starting to do.
